Springfield High School is currently looking for a Percussion Director/Instructor for the 2010 Outdoor Marching Band Season. The ideal candidate possesses excellent skills in teaching Battery as well as Auxiliary percussion instruments. DCI or similar experience is preferred.

Springfield HS Marching Band is moving the program towards the competitive side of things. Last year we did two exhibitions and went to Championships as an exhibition. This year we're competing 4-5 times and hosting our own show.

The battery has come a long way and we are moving forward in a great direction. The field band is about 90 kids and last year our battery was 5 snare, 2 quad, and 5 basses. We have Yamaha Equipment, light weight polycarbonate harnesses, stadium stands etc. We also have New Uniforms!!

We have rehearsals set aside for the summer and band camp starts Mid-August. Fall rehearsals are Mon. and Wed. 6-9pm. Attendance at band camp, rehearsals and competitions are important but there is some flexibility with your schedule when needed. Salary is based on experience and availability.

The Spring Grove Area School District is seeking passionate, experienced, and committed personnel for the Blue Crüe marching band.

Background: The below mentioned positions have opened for various reasons including child rearing, health, job changes, and retirement. Compensation varies by position and is set by the district. College or Corps experience is recommended, but not a requirement. Responsibilities include music sectionals, field visual instruction, 2 weeks of band camp in August, 2 rehearsals weekly beginning in September, football games, and 6 competitions.

Current openings and specific responsibilities include:
Marching Band Music & Drill Instructor (Base stipend: $1,800): Brass specialty preferable, responsibilities above, opportunities to lead full ensemble rehearsals and sectionals, provide instruction on the field during drill rehearsals.
Marching Band Assistant Percussion Instructor (Base stipend:$1,500): responsibilities listed above and 2 mini camps (6 hours in length) in July
Marching Band Front Routine Development Instructor (Base stipend: $1,000): Design colorguard routine in coordination with the director and colorguard staff.
Marching Band Front Instructor (Base stipend:$1,800): Responsibilities listed above
Marching Band Assistant Band Director (Base stipend: $1,667): work with staff to develop rehearsal plans on a weekly and monthly basis, assist with record keeping details, communicate with administration, parents, and community, lead multiple aspects of rehearsals, work with student leadership
